LIFELINE ZERO 2000 FLOW
CONTROL
The minimum requirements
The minimum requirement for the new Zero 2000 systems are as follows:
CLOSED CARS
4 litres, discharging 2 litres to the engine and
2 litres to the cockpit.
OPEN CARS
3.12 litres, discharging 2 litres to the engine and
1.12 litres to the cockpit.
What is the difference?
1.The new generation of Zero 2000 systems
now operate at a pressure of 8 bar (115psi) as opposed to 12
bar (175psi), the working pressure of the older type of system.
2.Tubing and fittings have changed. The systems
now operate using 10mm diameter decabon and 10mm push-in fittings.
The reason for this is to increase the flow of the extinguishant.
The systems will not operate with 6mm decabon.
3.Nozzles have been changed. They now have
a 90 deg wide full cone spray pattern. The extinguisher flow
rate is controlled by the nozzle. If the older type of Zero 2000
nozzle were to be used, the extinguisher would discharge too
slowly and would not fully discharge its contents.
4.Labelling of the bottle will require information
such as the homologation number, extinguisher volume, test pressure
and extinguishant type.
Kits supplied complete with all components
necessary for installation
Systems are available with either carbon fibre or aluminium
bottles.
