4x4 vs Boilers

It is estimated that 7 in 10 of us whose boilers are 15+ years old can make the biggest CO2 savings by replacing them with new A-rated boilers. This one measure alone will save more than swapping a 4x4 for a energy efficient hybrid fuel car. That's according to the Energy Saving Trust and Vehicle Certification Agency.

Boilers account for around 65% of all domestic carbon emissions - around 4 tonnes a year. Yet it's a common misconception that cars are bigger polluters even though a 4x4 doing average mileage produce 1 tonne of Co2 less a year than the average boiler!
