MARTIN
CROFTS 100" REBUILD
"It all started from
watching Mark on Discovery and me deciding to build the 100” Landrover,
but with some subtle changes!!!! Myself and
my counter part “Kristian “who I shall refer to
from now on as “Kris mate” embarked on the challenge in
December when I purchased a 1987 Range Rover and proceeded to take
a still saw
and plasma cutter to it.
And following what Mark did on TV and referencing
his DVD and Picture disc began the long job of grinding and welding
the chassis.

The team at Scorpion have been fantastic especially
Colin he has been nothing but a gentlemen helping a chap like me
with prices and advice even with his busy schedule .Ros and Richard
also have been great listening posts and full of encouragement and
good advice, my continued thanks is all I can offer at this point.
I have decided to do some things differently to Mark for I felt
a straight copy would be cheeky although still hard work!! Kris mate
and me have made this vehicle different by:
1: Stainless hand built roll cage
2: truck cab exhaust rising at the rear of the cage
3: Stainless fabricated fuel tank
4: fully chromed head covers
5: electronic engine management
6: single 500cfm carb and manifold and hand fabricated snorkel adapter off
the filter housing
7: Scorpion supplied 9.5 xp winches
8: safari tailgate …

And more as we go along but these
above are in various stages of manufacture but pictures will follow
as completed bits are fitted or made up………
I must add though without Marks DVD this project would have been
nearly impossible and all credit to the boys who first did the 100”
The project is immense and at the same time fantastic!
Regards
Martin Croft
“ And of course Kris mate” |

| "Before this project started Martin
had as much hair as Mark Evans! It shows what building a 100" can
do to you!" |

fitted for the last time. |
 |
| The Land Rover is starting to take
shape - bulkhead fitted, wired and trimmed. |
 |
| ARB air compressor fuel pump and filter
king secured to the chassis underneath the seat box. |
 |
| Make shift brackets and header tank
enable engine to run for the first time, what a fantastic sound!!! |
 |
| Window screen frame now fitted. Red
pipes are axle and gearbox breathers, all ready to go into a manifold
and feed 1 common breather pipe to run in conjunction with the raised
air intake. |
 |
| Seat box fitted to enable fabrication
of battery frame and custom stainless steel fuel tank. |
 |
| Most of the trim fitted to the
